Atlassian is a subscription-based platform that hosts businesses that have fully or partially transitioned into the subscription model. However, the idea was birthed while running my bakery from home. The service l offered at the time generally consisted of taking orders for whole cakes and not cake slices, large mini-dessert orders and not small order amounts to have little to no leftovers. Still, we had many customers who were increasingly interested in a variety of our products but in smaller quantities regularly.
Then it dawned on me. For our customers who would like to have our mini desserts, cake slices, and other savories regularly in the future, we could package them. A fantastic idea, I thought to myself. The only question was how I could get them all to collect at the same time. I sat on this idea for a little over a week until I was sitting in the living room after a long day, just wanted to sit back, watch Netflix and relax, but I could not because my account was inactive because my subscription was not paid. Then it all started coming together in my head and I looked for the nearest pen or paper to write on.
We help businesses that want to move partially or fully to the subscription model. We define a subscription as "Repetitively fulfilling agreements for payments made in advance." So, in essence, this model allows businesses to earn the better half of their monthly revenue or more at the beginning of the month, rather than at the end of the month. As a result, the customer can receive a reduced price for the product or service.
Atlassian helps businesses generate recurring revenue, and with our service, we help them create predictable revenue streams that solidify and secure the future of their business. So if an Atlassian user or customer and a retailer agree on a reduced price for a product or service, the user then pays upfront, and all the retailer has to do is honor the contract.
